Gathering the Muses

ArtsLIVE in Ventura County

ArtsLIVE Ventura County is a three-year initiative, in partnership with the James Irvine Foundation’s Communities Advancing the Arts, and focused on several outcomes:

  1. Heightening the visibility of art produced in Ventura County through grantmaking, with attention to the role of artists in building community, and to art produced by and for youth, seniors and traditionally under-represented groups.

  2. Gathering the arts and broader community in a series of public convenings to study, learn and strategize around key issues important to sustaining the arts in Ventura County.

  3. Creation of an endowed Young Artists Scholarship Fund.

  4. Training series for arts nonprofit staff, volunteers and boards aimed at expanding their ability to engage, sustain and grow donors.
