Ventura County Civic Alliance > Projects > Workforce Education
Our Workforce Initiative seeks to build support across the “3E” communities for effective workforce education programs, particularly targeting key at-risk groups: youth, immigrants, displaced workers, and the underemployed. Our ultimate aim is to promote integrated economic and workforce development strategies that support community growth and sustainability goals and that offer all residents the opportunity to achieve a good quality of life for themselves and their families.

Our 2011 Workforce Education conference Pathways to Prosperity featured Keynote Dr. Ronald F. Ferguson, creator of the Tripod Project for School Improvement, the faculty co-chair and director of the Achievement Gap Initiative (AGI) at Harvard University and faculty co-director of the Pathways to Prosperity Project at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. It brought over 160 key educators, policy makers and community members to learn about on how to help all youth, not just the college-bound, transition successfully from school to work.
