What is a sustainable Ventura County?
We want to hear from your creativity, your innovation and your VOICE!
One of the projects Ventura County Civic Alliance is working on is the Compact for a Sustainable Ventura County. The Compact is a set of principles to guide decision makers in Ventura County as our population grows. An estimated 200,000 are expected by 2035. Where will they work? live? how to we plan our county so it is sustainable? Because these principles directly affect the future of the younger generation of Ventura County, we concluded it is essential to get more active participation from you. Thus, we are organizing a series of contests and events for youth to express their ideas about what they want the future to be. It will be a four part series and the contests will include: poster design, video production, art (any medium) and music. Each of these events will be promoted with the goal of engaging 250 Young Leaders ranging in age from High School to Young Professionals (under 35). Further engage your creative expression in making a difference in Ventura County. At the events we will be announcing the winners and asking guests to speak about what sustainability means to them.
Deadline for submissions for Music Contest is Friday June 1st.
Concert is Wednesday June 13th at Zoey’s Café in Ventura. Must be able to perform at the event.
