Bio
Vanessa Bechtel, AIFA, CSPG er præsident og CEO for Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF). I løbet af det sidste årti har VCCF under hendes ledelse og med støtte fra generøse donorer, dedikerede frivillige og en passioneret bestyrelse og stab bevilget mere end $160 millioner til at fremme vigtige formål, herunder uddannelse, sundhedspleje, boliger, miljøbeskyttelse, dyrevelfærd, kunst og musik og katastrofehjælp.
I 2024 blev Bechtel udnævnt til æresdoktor ved California State University, Channel Islands, som anerkendelse af hendes betydningsfulde bidrag til samfundet. I 2023 modtog hun Trailblazer Award fra Women's Economic Ventures for sit visionære lederskab.
Tidligere var Bechtel administrerende direktør for Santa Barbara City College Foundation og medstifter af Monarch Wealth Strategies i 2008. Hun er bl.a. blevet udnævnt til årets forretningskvinde af Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce i 2010, til årets nonprofitleder af Ventura County Leadership Academy i 2019, og sammen med sin ægtefælle Jim er hun blevet udnævnt til årets humanitære organisation af Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. I 2020 blev hun udnævnt til årets kvinde af både Camarillo Chamber of Commerce og 19th Senatorial and 37th Assembly Districts.
Bechtel har en grad i jura og samfund fra UC Santa Barbara, en mastergrad fra Marshall School of Business ved University of Southern California i 2016 og et mastercertifikat fra International Institute for the Sociology of Law i Onati, Spanien, i 2002.

Bio
Bonnie Gilles er Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for VCCF. Hendes ansvar omfatter tilsyn med VCCF's mere end 600 donorrådgivne, donorudpegede, legat-, interesseområde- og agenturfonde samt fondens investeringsportefølje, dens driftsbudget og dens årlige tilskud og legatbudget. Bonnie har været i stand til at anvende sin 20-årige erfaring med ejendomsudvikling og -forvaltning til at føre tilsyn med VCCF Nonprofit Center. Derudover fører hun tilsyn med fondens forsikring og menneskelige ressourcer.
Før hun kom til VCCF i oktober 2014, var Bonnie vicepræsident for økonomi hos Total Woman Gym + Spa, hvor hun styrede økonomi og regnskab for en portefølje på 16 steder med over $35 millioner i årlige indtægter. Før Total Woman var hun controller for Fore Property Co, et nationalt udviklings-/ejendomsforvaltningsfirma med fokus på lavindkomstboligområder med 40 lokationer i 15 stater. Siden 2018 har Bonnie været erhvervsrepræsentant i Pleasant Valley School District Citizens' Oversight Committee for $119.000.000 Measure C Bond Measure, og hun er i øjeblikket formand.
Bonnie er aktivt autoriseret revisor i Californien (CPA) og dimitterede magna cum laude fra California State University, Northridge, med en BS i business administration-regnskab. Bonnie er AIFA-certificeret (Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst).

Mike Silacci er blevet en del af Ventura County Community Foundations team som Chief Philanthropy & Community Engagement Officer med ansvar for at udvide relationerne og skabe flere veje ind i vores community foundation for fortsat at øge filantropien i vores region.
Mike udnytter sin tidligere store erfaring med VCCF, hvor han har haft det privilegium at sidde i bestyrelsen i 14 år, hvoraf halvdelen var som kasserer og formand for bestyrelsens finans-/administrations- og investeringsudvalg.
Før han kom til VCCF-teamet, havde Mike en 40-årig karriere hos AT&T, hvor han havde forskellige ledelsesopgaver inden for Corporate Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Regulatory Compliance og External/Government & Community Affairs (EA). Han brugte de sidste 25 år af sin karriere på at repræsentere AT&T over for lokale, statslige og føderale embedsmænd og samfundsledere og samfundsorganisationer i hele Los Angeles-regionen, der dækker Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo og Kern counties, herunder næsten 10 år som leder af AT&T's Greater LA EA-team som regional vicepræsident.

Mike er født i San Luis Obispo og dimitterede fra California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo i 1981 med en B.S. i business administration/finance emphasis. Han og hans familie har boet i Newbury Park i over 25 år.

Tracy Tagawa er Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) for Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF). Hun har over 20 års erfaring med risikostyring. Hun brænder for at udvikle stærke relationer og samtidig sikre, at compliance- og risikopolitikker følges i hele organisationen. Hendes ansvarsområder omfatter tilsynet med VCCF's Corporate Compliance Program og overholdelsen af VCCF's tillidsansvar over for sine kunder og fremtidige fondsejere.
Før hun kom til VCCF i september 2020, var Tracy Vice President - Regional Brokerage Supervisor for Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC i 14 år. Hendes region omfattede byer i Santa Barbara County, Ventura County og Los Angeles County. Hun arbejdede flittigt med at identificere potentielle risici på forhånd, analysere dem og tage forholdsregler for at reducere risikoen i fremtiden. Hun var også ansvarlig for alle interne og eksterne revisioner i sin region.
Tracy voksede op i Marin County, Californien, og dimitterede fra University of California i Santa Barbara med hovedfag i erhvervsøkonomi. Jim Rivera, som har boet i Ventura County hele sit liv, har over 30 års erfaring inden for nonprofit-ledelse og fondsudvikling. Han kom til VCCF som Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) i juni 2015. Han har tidligere arbejdet som Chief Operating Officer og Interim CEO for Santa Barbara City College Foundation, Vice President hos Netzel Grigsby Associates, Inc. et ledelses- og konsulentfirma, Vice President of Administration for Santa Barbara Foundation og President & CEO for Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbaras største udbyder af hjemmesygepleje og hospice. Jim begyndte sin karriere inden for nonprofit-ledelse som United Way-medarbejder i både Ventura og Santa Barbara amter.

Kinsey er født og opvokset i Chatsworth og har boet i Ventura County fra tid til anden siden sit første år på CSU Channel Islands i 2013, hvor hun fik en bachelor i psykologi. Kinsey er en ivrig sejler og har også et OUPV-kaptajncertifikat/handelsskippereksamen. Før hun kom til VCCF-teamet, var hun udviklings- og programmeringsassistent og programinstruktør hos en nonprofitorganisation i Oxnard om bord på et 110 fods stort skib. Kinsey tilbragte sin barndoms somre med at sejle på Huntington Lake på Gold Arrow Camp, men blev virkelig forelsket i sejlads, da hun kom med på sit universitetshold i sejlads på CSUCI, hvor hun var kaptajn i tre år og sejladsinstruktør for unge og voksne på CI Boating Center. Hun fandt en passion for at lære børn at sejle, da hun var vejleder i to år på GAC og sejladsinstruktør på CIBC's sommerlejr. Kinsey er begejstret for at bringe sin unikke erfaring til VCCF og bidrage til den utrolige indflydelse, som fonden har på Ventura County. Når hun ikke arbejder eller sejler, elsker Kinsey at strikke og hækle, læse, udforske Disneyland og prale af sin kat Anya.

Mike er født og opvokset i Nebraska, hvor han afsluttede sin universitetsuddannelse med en grad i regnskab. Efter endt uddannelse besluttede han, at han ville flytte til Californien. Han søgte på nettet og besluttede, at Ventura County var destinationen. Så han pakkede sine ting og flyttede til vestkysten.
Mike har ti års erfaring inden for regnskab, men dette er hans første forsøg i nonprofit-verdenen. Han glæder sig til udfordringen og er ivrig efter at bidrage til VCCF's mission. Mike er en ivrig musikelsker, og i sin fritid kan han lide at spille discgolf, basketball, cykle, svømme, vandre, læse, lave mad og lege med sin toårige søn, Miles.

As a lifelong Ventura County resident, Christian Erickson has a strong sense of pride in his community paired with a genuine desire to see it improve. With a diverse set of professional experience, ranging from working in college community services, cybersecurity consulting for a startup, and creating technology YouTube videos since high school, Christian hopes to help advance the mission of the foundation in a variety of ways.
Furthermore, Christian has spent over a decade learning Spanish (including months spent living in Mexico) and looks forward to further connecting with the Latinx community in his role at the foundation. In his free time, Christian loves exploring walkable cities, consuming science fiction media, and furthering his study of Spanish.

Lauren Graf Peña er marketing- og kommunikationsmedarbejder hos Ventura County Community Foundation. Hun kombinerer sine passioner for design, kommunikation og samfundstjeneste i sin nuværende rolle hos VCCF.
Lauren is currently based remotely out of Seattle, WA but was born and raised in Carpinteria, CA. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from California Lutheran University, where she received bachelor’s degrees in both communication with an emphasis in advertising and public relations, and art. She began her career at VCCF in 2021 as Administrative Assistant to the President & CEO and took her current position in 2022.
Lauren is also a lifelong volunteer, first accompanying her parents to Rotary projects while growing up, and later becoming an active Rotaract volunteer, as well as working in marketing at local nonprofits. Her passion for volunteering continues in her local community through helping faith-based, youth theatre, and pride organizations.

Kate Jackson brings over a decade of nonprofit finance leadership to her role as Director of Accounting at the Ventura County Community Foundation. With expertise in fund accounting, audit oversight, and financial systems optimization, she is committed to building transparent, compliant, and mission-aligned financial operations.
Before joining VCCF, Kate spent seven years at the Tides Foundation, most recently serving as Interim Senior Director of Finance. During her tenure, she managed audits, regulatory filings, and developed reporting tools to improve cash planning and fund transparency. She also helped standardize services for philanthropic partners and strengthen accountability across more than 400 funds.
Her career also includes roles at Larkin Street Youth Services and the Santa Barbara Center for Performing Arts, where she specialized in grant compliance, payroll, and internal controls. Kate is a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP Advanced) and holds a degree from the University of California, San Diego.

Bio
Sierra is the Grant & Scholarship Program Specialist at the Ventura County Community Foundation. Sierra was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, CA and has lived in Ventura County her whole life. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Channel Island’s Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics in 2024 with a B.S. in business. Sierra grew up playing competitive club and high school soccer, teaching her the value of teamwork, tenacity, and pushing through challenges, traits she now carries with her wherever she goes. Sierra feels grateful for the opportunity to help make a positive impact in the beautiful county she grew up in and calls home.
In her free time, Sierra loves to travel. Some of her favorite places she has been lucky enough to explore recently include Germany, New York, Hawaii, and South Dakota. Sierra also moved into her first home in Oak Park, CA and loves exploring her new neighborhood and nearby hiking trails. Additionally, she enjoys any outdoor activities, time with friends and family, and watching her favorite sports teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Buffaloes.

Aidan Miner is the Administrative Assistant at VCCF. Raised in Thousand Oaks, Aidan got involved in community service at a young age through Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts of America. His passion to help others only grew as he progressed through the ranks and eventually achieve Eagle Scout.
As an alumni of California State University, Channel Islands, he achieved a degree in communication studies. Through Channel Islands, he worked with VCCF on the Isabella Project. After the project, he realized all the good he could continue doing through VCCF. After his internship with them, he continued his work full-time at VCCF.

Bio
Calleen Pardinas is the Philanthropic Services Officer and Board Liaison at the Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF). She moved to Ventura County from Arizona in 2019 and quickly fell in love with the community’s spirit of generosity.
Born and raised in Mesa, Calleen’s background in corporate philanthropy inspired her passion for working with local nonprofits and growing philanthropy throughout the region. At VCCF, she leads the Donor Peer Network, bringing together local philanthropists to learn, connect, and collaborate on ways to strengthen Ventura County.
“Our donor clients have taught me so much during my time at VCCF. I’m constantly inspired by their generosity and commitment to building a thriving community.”
Calleen earned her degree in communications and sustainability from Arizona State University and is especially passionate about environmental education and youth engagement. Outside of work, she loves traveling and spending time outdoors – sun or snow – with her husband, two children, and dogs.

Jessica Proctor er Building Services Coordinator for VCCF Nonprofit Center og giver information om centrets ressourcer og lejertjenester. Ud over at hilse på og vejlede besøgende, når de ankommer til bygningen, administrerer hun også anmodninger om mødeplads og værelsesreservation for over 125 berettigede nonprofitorganisationer i Ventura County. I marts 2019 blev hun certificeret i Fiduciary Essentials for Foundations and Endowments (FEFE).
Før hun kom til VCCF i 2012, var Jessica grafiker i 16 år i Los Angeles County, hvor hun digitalt farvelagde børnetegnefilm til tv i dagtimerne. Hun har bl.a. arbejdet med "Strawberry Shortcake", "Horseland", "Liberty's Kids", "Dino Squad", "Sabrina the Animated Series" og den Emmy-belønnede "Madeline".
Jessica fik for nylig sin AA i antropologi med højeste udmærkelse fra Oxnard College i 2015 og planlægger at skifte til CSU Channel Islands i fremtiden. Når hun ikke arbejder eller studerer, nyder Jessica at tilbringe sin fritid med sin søn og skabe kunst.

Bio
Julia Stermer is the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO, Vanessa Bechtel, at the Ventura County Community Foundation. Born and raised in Camarillo, Ventura County, Julia is thrilled to be helping her home community after many years in the travel industry.
During her high school and early college years, she raised money for, and participated in, volunteer work abroad where she taught English and assisted with the needs of local communities through an organization known as IMPACT. After completing her Associate of Arts degree at Ventura County Community College, she began the Bachelor of English program at California State University, Channel Islands, before entering the workforce full-time.
After six years working her way up in a River Cruise Company from Reservationist to Groups Reservationist, to Communications Coordinator & Administrative Assistant, then finally to Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Sales, she was inspired to join the Ventura County Community Foundation. Her personal motto is: “Always maintain a student mindset.”
When not working, Julia volunteers as an historical re-enactor at renaissance fairs, exhibiting attire and handiworks of Western Europe from the 15th to 17th centuries. Outside of these events, she enjoys hiking, board games, and spending time with friends, family, and her three kitties: Artemis, Apollo, and Aphrodite.

Candice Nyholt har over 16 års erfaring med kommunikation med social effekt, adfærdsændring og markedsføring af fødevarer. Hun har været en nøglespiller i adskillige vellykkede kampagner som Santa Barbara City College Foundation's Campaign for Student Success, Foodbank of Santa Barbara County's Join Jacob Campaign og Sacramento County Public Health's Winter Virus Vaccine Campaign, for blot at nævne nogle få.
Før hun grundlagde sit eget marketing- og kommunikationsfirma med fokus på nonprofitorganisationer og små virksomheder, var hun Account Supervisor hos Runyon Saltzman, hvor hun stod i spidsen for statslige kampagner for adfærdsændring og social indflydelse. Hun var Account Supervisor hos Evans Hardy Young, hvor hun drev markedsføring for fødevare- og råvareudvalgskunder, såsom Idaho Potato Commission. Hun var også Account Director hos SurfMedia Communications, hvor hun betjente kunder med et engagement i kultur og samfund, såsom Women's Economic Ventures og Community Environmental Council. Nyholt var marketing- og distributionschef hos BabyFirst, en førende uddannelses- og læringskanal for børn og forældre.
Nyholt er uddannet fra University of California, Irvine med en grad i internationale studier og en mindre grad i engelsk. I 2008 fik hun en mastergrad fra Pepperdine University's Graziadio Business School. I 2013 blev hun udnævnt til Pacific Coast Business Times 40 under 40 og har siddet i bestyrelsen for Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics.

Jeg har været i regnskabsbranchen i næsten 15 år. Jeg har været heldig nok til at få stor erfaring, da jeg har arbejdet med alt fra produktion til reklame. Dette bliver min første erfaring med en non-profit organisation, og jeg kunne ikke være mere begejstret!!! Jeg forelskede mig i Ventura County ved første blik, da jeg flyttede hertil i 2007. Jeg kan ikke komme i tanke om en organisation, jeg ville være mere stolt af at være en del af.

Kirsti kom til Ventura County Community Foundation i august 2022.
Kirsti er født og opvokset i Ventura og har arbejdet for vores amt inden for nonprofit og social service i over 30 år. Før hun kom til VCCF som stipendiedirektør, var Kirsti programdirektør i Californien for en national nonprofitorganisation inden for mental sundhed. Før det administrerede hun et statsligt forebyggelsestilskud, der leverede familiestyrkende og kapacitetsopbyggende tjenester til nonprofitorganisationer og regeringsorganer i hele Californien.
Kirsti er uddannet fra San Jose State University og bor i Camarillo med sin mand, søn og sin forkælede vovse Rosie.
Bio
Aaron Weissman is the Database Manager for the Ventura County Community Foundation. Aaron was born in Woodland Hills but has lived in Ventura since he was a toddler, so he considers it his hometown.
Aaron graduated with a B.A. in psychology from California State University, Channel Islands in 2019. During his time at CSUCI, he helped coordinate events with PSI CHI and served as treasurer for a year. He has some previous community-oriented experience working at Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation through an internship program, as well as teaching college preparation at Ventura Youth Correctional Facility.
Fra rejser i en ung alder til lokale sportsstævner og hans kærlighed til vandreture har Aaron set de fleste dele af Ventura County. Han lærte at sætte pris på den naturlige skønhed og livlige kultur, som hver by har at byde på, og håber at kunne give amtet noget tilbage gennem denne stilling. Graduating in 2024 from California State University, Northridge with a bachelor’s degree in graphic and communication design, Finley West discovered the fulfillment of working with nonprofits through coursework that allowed him to create designs for the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Finley moved to Wisconsin for his sophomore and junior years of high school where he discovered his passion for graphic design from frequenting online forums, as well as through the printing and papermaking industry that is so dominant there. It was during high school when he decided that he would pursue graphic design and communications as a career, but he always yearned for a way he could help people and merge his passion and purpose together.
Frequenting Ventura County often when he was younger, Finley made the move to Newbury Park after graduation and has been smitten with the county ever since. Upon discovering the position with VCCF, the decision was an easy one, and now Finley is overjoyed at the potential to give back to his community while simultaneously utilizing his passion for graphic and communication design. Enjoying the rich cultural history of Ventura, the coastal air of Port Hueneme, the wonderful people of Oxnard and Camarillo, and everything else the county has to offer, Ventura County is a place that he is proud to call home and happy to serve.
Finley enjoys reading novels, exploring indie gaming and art, and going on evening walks to enjoy the fresh air of Newbury Park. He also enjoys California’s history and natural features, taking trips to the Sierras or the Redwoods whenever he can and exploring the geographical features of the state.
