As we enter the fall season and pumpkin spice flavored everything seems to surround us, it’s inspiring to reflect on the milestones we’ve accomplished together over the last several months.<\/p>\n

In August, we celebrated the completion of our Roadmap Implementation Plan, which will serve as our North Star guiding next steps together. Thanks to our Steering Committee members working alongside VIVA Social Impact Partners, we embarked on a listening tour, engaging with hundreds of families and early care providers in Santa Paula to understand their needs and aspirations. Your commitment to ensuring access to highest-quality early education for all children in Santa Paula and beyond is clear and has led us to where we are today.<\/p>\n

In September, some of us had the honor of representing the City of Santa Paula at the National League of Cities Early Learning Nation: California Innovation Summit held in Sacramento. Santa Paula was one of five California cities selected for the program (other cities include Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, and San Diego). We heard from national speakers on the topics of early childhood education and workforce, met peers and exchanged best practices, took a tour of the Sacramento Employment & Training Agency (SETA), which included their Head Start Centers and made invaluable connections. We look forward to continuing exchanging ideas and learning from one another.<\/p>\n

There’s a lot more excitement happening over the next few weeks! Please, save the date for our\u00a0In-Person Steering Committee meeting taking place Tuesday, October 15th<\/strong>\u00a0from 11a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Casa del Mexicano (218 South 11th Street) in Santa Paula. Important updates will be shared as well as opportunities for strategic group discussions and more! There will also be Proyecto Isabella T-shirts for each of you, custom-designed by our very own Lauren Graf, so you don’t want to miss it!<\/p>\n

\"\"We hope you will also join us on\u00a0Saturday, October 19th for our first-ever children and family festival, Todos Juntos Por Los Ni\u00f1os!<\/strong>\u00a0It will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Glen City Elementary (141 S Steckel Drive) in Santa Paula and will include over 40 community booths ranging from children’s enrichment activities to wrap-around services, as well as resources from ECE providers, among others. Thanks to those of you who will be participating in sharing your important work! We’ll also have a variety of delicious food trucks, live entertainment, workshops, outdoor activities and more! This free event is made possible by a $100,000 grant from the Resilience, Capacity Building, and Community Engagement Grant Program of the League of California Community Foundations to support trusted messenger organizations in promoting highest-quality ECE.<\/p>\n

Recently, we also kicked-off planning for an Isabella Project video, showcasing the many partners involved in turning the Isabella Project’s vision into a reality. Please keep an eye out for more information on this!<\/p>\n
