Checks will be mailed in early January 2020.Donate Now<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Caregiving Collaborative<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Being a family caregiver is a vital role to vulnerable members in our community. It is a staggering statistic, but recent research by Dr. Jamshid Damooei from Cal Lutheran estimates that by 2050, every other person in Ventura County will be a caregiver \u2013 a dramatic increase from today!<\/p>\n<p>A collaborative effort has been formed with local hospitals to help increase support and training these family caregivers to receive, and VCCF is very proud to announce $678,750 in financial commitments to three local hospitals to be paid over three-years for the Family Caregiver Navigation Project.Learn More<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Read &#8220;The Future of Caregiving for an Aging Population&#8221; Report<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Recently, VCCF published\u00a0Dr. Jamshid Damooei&#8217;s report on caregiving in Ventura County entitled, &#8220;The Future of Caregiving for an Aging Population.&#8221; This report provides extensive information from multiple national and regional surveys about the needs of caregivers and how they can be effectively assisted.<\/p>\n<p>Click the link below to\u00a0download the full report.Download Report<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Foundation <\/strong><strong>Recognized at Veteran&#8217;s Court Ceremony<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>The Martin V. and Martha K. Smith\u00a0Foundation was recently recognized at\u00a0a ceremony in which the Ventura County Veterans Intervention Court became the &#8220;Judge Colleen Toy White Veterans Court Treatment Program.&#8221;\u00a0The court hears criminal cases of veterans who may be suffering some physical or psychological trauma, such as post-traumatic stress disorder.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">For many years, the Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Foundation has granted funds to support the position of a court liaison between the veteran&#8217;s court and the veteran&#8217;s treatment programs throughout the county.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"null\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Ventura County Counts Grantmaking\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>VCCF and the County of Ventura recently awarded more than $500,000 to Community Based Organizations throughout the county.
