Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund launched<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) is teaming up with government agencies, educators, corporate officials, faith leaders and other nonprofits on a fund to help people impacted by immigration enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund provides \u201cimmediate and essential relief, including food, transportation, housing assistance and other urgent needs,\u201d according to a VCCF news release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the fund supports local families and small businesses experiencing sudden hardship and disruption at a time when schools in some districts are reporting double digit drops in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs the son of immigrants and now Ventura County\u2019s Superintendent of Schools, I carry with me the stories, sacrifices and dreams of families who came here seeking a better life,\u201d Dr. C\u00e9sar Morales said. \u201cThe Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund is a powerful reminder that we are not powerless. It allows us, as a community, to respond with compassion and practical support in a moment of real need. Together, we can ensure that every child feels safe, every family feels seen and that no one in Ventura County is left behind.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VCCF officials said the Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund is committed to transparency and accountability and a special VCCF committee of \u201crespected community leaders,\u201d will distribute funds to ensure maximum impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other partners in the effort include the County of Ventura, Ventura County Economic Development Association, League of Women Voters of Ventura County, Social Justice Fund for Ventura County, Montecito Bank & Trust and Ventura County Credit Union.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
