Read the full story below or on the Los Angeles Times Hjemmeside<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. is contributing to relief efforts following last week\u2019s Thousand Oaks shooting and while the deadly wildfires scorching swaths of California still burn.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The HFPA, which hosts the annual Golden Globe Awards, will donate $300,000 to organizations helping those affected by the tragedies, organizers announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cFrom a devastating massacre in Thousand Oaks a week ago, to blazing wildfires that are still tearing through our state, it is times like this when the community needs to come together and support one another,\u201d association president\u00a0Meher Tatna said in a statement to The Times.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis is why the HFPA is making donations to help the victims and their loved ones who have been impacted, and to support the selfless work of our first responders,\u201d Tatna added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n The HFPA is allotting\u00a0$100,000 to the\u00a0Ventura County Community Foundation, which itself has\u00a0two funds to help\u00a0Hill and Woolsey fire victims and the families of victims of\u00a0the Thousand Oaks mass shooting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Another\u00a0$100,000 will go to\u00a0California Fire Foundation\u2019s Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency (SAVE)\u00a0program to enable\u00a0firefighters to distribute prepaid debit cards to those who are affected, helping them\u00a0get through the first few\u00a0hours after losing their homes and possessions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n The HFPA will also give $50,000 apiece to the California Fire Foundation and the\u00a0California Community Foundation\u2019s Wildfire Relief Fund.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n The Woolsey fire burning in\u00a0Los Angeles and Ventura counties\u00a0so far<\/a>\u00a0has left three dead, destroyed 504 structures\u00a0and threatened 57,000 other buildings. The Camp fire burning in Northern California has killed 56 people with hundreds still missing, destroyed 8,650 homes and 260 commercial structures, and threatened\u00a015,500. The latter has become the deadliest and most destructive fire in state history.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
