As 2024 reaches its close, our committee has so much to be proud of. Over the past 12 months, you have given your time, energy, and love in moving towards our goal of bringing highest-quality early childhood education to the children of Santa Paula. Some highlights of this past year include the following…<\/p>\n
- \n
- In February, Dr. Gabino Aguirre championed our cause at the Foundations on the Hill 2024 in Washington, D.C., where he met with numerous elected officials and shared what we are doing here in Ventura County through the Isabella Project.<\/li>\n
- At our April steering committee meeting, VIVA shared findings from hundreds of survey responses from parents, caregivers, and early educators in Santa Paula, which we further delved into and discussed at our May meeting.<\/li>\n
- This summer, our Early Childhood Action Committee assembled and has been meeting regularly to bring together the wisdom of its members and identify possible quality, workforce, and access solutions for Santa Paula.<\/li>\n
- In June, the League of California Community Foundations selected the Isabella Project to host a series of “Todos Juntos Por Los Ni\u00f1os” events, which kicked off several months of planning for our first-ever children’s festival.<\/li>\n
- On June 19, we spoke at the Santa Paula City Council meeting on the power of highest-quality early childhood education and our hopes for our community with the Isabella Project.<\/li>\n
- At our August steering committee meeting, we celebrated the completion of our Roadmap Implementation Plan, which will serve as our North Star guiding our next steps. Thanks to our steering committee members working alongside VIVA Social Impact Partners, we embarked on a listening tour, engaging with hundreds of families and early care providers in Santa Paula to understand their needs and aspirations.<\/li>\n
- In September, the Isabella Project went to Sacramento to represent Santa Paula at the Nation League of Cities Early Learning Nation: California Innovation Summit. Our small but mighty city was one of five selected for the program alongside Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, and San Diego.<\/li>\n
- At our October steering committee meeting, we envisioned the future of Santa Paula and the Isabella Project and received a transformative gift from Citizens Business Bank.<\/li>\n
- On October 19, we partied at our first-ever children’s festival, Todos Juntos Por Los Ni\u00f1os! With over 680 attendees and 48 booths, this event was a huge success for celebrating the children of our community and providing resources to families. - Each month, we heard from our expert committee members presenting at our Isabella Project Lunch & Learns, sharing how their organizations are supporting our community’s children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
We have so much to be proud of in 2024, and we hope it fills you with energy and inspiration as we enter 2025. Be sure to bring all your resolutions and goals to our first steering committee meeting in the new year, and until we see each other again, we wish you all a joyful holiday season with your loved ones.<\/p>\n

Conforme se acerca el final de 2024, nuestro comit\u00e9 tiene mucho de lo que enorgullecerse. Durante los \u00faltimos 12 meses, ustedes han dedicado su tiempo, energ\u00eda y amor a acercarnos a nuestro objetivo de hacer llegar la educaci\u00f3n infantil de m\u00e1s alta calidad a los ni\u00f1os de Santa Paula. Algunos momentos destacados de este a\u00f1o que termina incluyen los siguientes…<\/p>\n

- En febrero, el Dr. Gabino Aguirre defendi\u00f3 nuestra causa en el Foundations on the Hill de 2024 en Washington, D.C., donde se reuni\u00f3 con numerosos funcionarios electos y comparti\u00f3 lo que estamos haciendo aqu\u00ed en el Condado de Ventura a trav\u00e9s del Proyecto Isabella.<\/li>\n
- En la reuni\u00f3n de abril de nuestro comit\u00e9 directivo, VIVA comparti\u00f3 los hallazgos de cientos de respuestas a encuestas de padres y madres, cuidadores y educadores infantiles en Santa Paula, en las que profundizamos m\u00e1s y debatimos en nuestra reuni\u00f3n de mayo.<\/li>\n
- Este verano se constituy\u00f3 nuestro Comit\u00e9 de Acci\u00f3n para la Infancia Temprana, que se viene reuniendo regularmente para unir los conocimientos de sus miembros e identificar posibles soluciones de calidad, fuerza de trabajo y acceso para Santa Paula.<\/li>\n
- En junio, la Liga de Fundaciones Comunitarias de California seleccion\u00f3 el Proyecto Isabella para organizar una serie de eventos “Todos Juntos Por Los Ni\u00f1os”, lo cual puso en marcha varios meses de preparaci\u00f3n para nuestro primer festival infantil.<\/li>\n
- El 19 de junio hablamos en la reuni\u00f3n del Concejo Municipal de Santa Paula sobre el poder de la educaci\u00f3n infantil de la m\u00e1s alta calidad y las esperanzas para nuestra comunidad con el Proyecto Isabella.<\/li>\n
- En la reuni\u00f3n de agosto de nuestro comit\u00e9 directivo celebramos haber completado el Plan de Implementaci\u00f3n de nuestra Hoja de Ruta, que ser\u00e1 la luz que guiar\u00e1 nuestros pr\u00f3ximos pasos. Gracias a los miembros de nuestro comit\u00e9 directivo que trabajan junto con los Colaboradores de Impacto Social de VIVA, nos embarcamos en un recorrido para escuchar, contactando a cientos de familias y proveedores de atenci\u00f3n infantil en Santa Paula para entender sus necesidades y aspiraciones.<\/li>\n
- En septiembre el Proyecto Isabella fue a Sacramento para representar a Santa Paula en la Liga Nacional de Ciudades, Naci\u00f3n de Aprendizaje Temprano: Cumbre de Innovaci\u00f3n de California. Nuestra peque\u00f1a pero poderosa ciudad fue una de las cinco seleccionadas para el programa junto a Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento y San Diego.<\/li>\n
- En la reuni\u00f3n de octubre de nuestro comit\u00e9 directivo contemplamos el futuro de Santa Paula y el Proyecto Isabella y recibimos un regalo transformador del Citizens Business Bank.<\/li>\n
- \u00a1El 19 de octubre tuvimos una celebraci\u00f3n en nuestro primer festival infantil, Todos Juntos Por Los Ni\u00f1os! Con m\u00e1s de 680 asistentes y 40 puestos de informaci\u00f3n, este evento fue un enorme \u00e9xito en honor de los ni\u00f1os de nuestra comunidad y para proporcionar recursos para familias. - Cada mes hemos escuchado a los miembros de nuestro comit\u00e9 de expertos haciendo presentaciones en nuestros Almuerzos de Aprendizaje del Proyecto Isabella, compartiendo la forma en que sus organizaciones apoyan a los ni\u00f1os de nuestra comunidad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Tenemos mucho de que enorgullecernos en 2024, y esperamos que eso los llene de energ\u00eda e inspiraci\u00f3n conforme entramos en 2025.
