Speedwagon<\/strong>\u00a0has organized a pair of star-studded concerts in the Los Angeles area next month to raise money for two good causes.<\/p>\n

The shows, scheduled for\u00a0January 12<\/a>\u00a0und\u00a0January 13<\/a>\u00a0at the Fred Kavli Theatre in Thousand Oaks, California, will raise money for the victims of two recent tragedies in that area: the mass shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill, and the devastating Woolsey and Hill fires. The proceeds will benefit the Ventura County Community Foundation\u2019s\u00a0Fonds f\u00fcr die Opfer des Conejo-Tals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Among\u00a0the artists<\/a>\u00a0who will be joining the veteran rockers at one or both events are\u00a0Eddie Money<\/strong>,\u00a0Richard Marx<\/strong>\u00a0und\u00a0Five for Fighting<\/strong>'s\u00a0John Ondrasik<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition,\u00a0Sir, Please<\/strong>, a band featuring REO Speedwagon frontman\u00a0Kevin Cronin<\/strong>\u2018s twin sons\u00a0Josh<\/strong>\u00a0und\u00a0Shane<\/strong>, will open both concerts. More guests will be added to the shows.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the concerts are on sale now.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family has sat in the Borderline Bar, and watched my sons\u2019 band perform on that stage,\u201d says Kevin in a statement. \u201cOur hearts ache for the families who are suffering the unthinkable loss of a child or friend due to this senseless, horrific mass shooting.<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cThen, just as the grieving process was beginning, the Woolsey Fire struck, causing widespread destruction and evacuation of the Thousand Oaks area. The people of our neighborhood are strong, yet these are challenging times. REO hopes that the funds that are collectively raised can offer at least a bit of relief.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cronin and his REO band mates\u00a0Dave Amato<\/strong>\u00a0und\u00a0Bryan Hitt<\/strong>\u00a0are all area residents.<\/p>\n

REO Speedwagon has nearly two dozen U.S. shows confirmed for 2019, spanning from a January 11 performance Valley Center, California, through a September 28 gig in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n
