At the annual meeting of the Economic Development Collaborative yesterday, a compelling group of panelists presented their thoughts and experiences in regards to disaster recovery. Their remarks served as a reminder of how so many within our community are still just beginning to grapple with the impact these disasters have had on their lives. Let\u2019s help make it easier for them by reminding one another there is an entire support network eager to help. A good starting place for those seeking aid in recovery is 2-1-1 (please follow the links below):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdaR0---TN14uL6PVW9_1t0CsTE8iIkzLHoNzPRpsbUwC3u5w\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Englisch<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/u\/1\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScvemzjIb9k3Dosb4K-cFmpuOFbfYKptwkR5bIbo0jVPyWObw\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spanisch<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please note:\u00a0<\/strong>We continue to raise support for those impacted by the Thomas Fire as well. For those individuals in need of financial assistance in relationship to the Thomas Fire who are not currently working with a case manager, they should reach out to 2-1-1 so they can be assigned to the appropriate organization.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a brief update on pressing deadlines for individual assistance and support from VCCF.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Fonds f\u00fcr die Opfer des Conejo-Tals<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\nSince we last connected, the document that will determine the process and distribution protocols for financial support for those impacted by the shooting at Borderline Bar &amp; Grill has been finalized. To review the Final Protocol click <a href=\"https:\/\/conejovalleyvictimsfund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Conejo-Valley-Victims-Fund-Final-Protocol.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/conejovalleyvictimsfund.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Conejo-Valley-Victims-Fund-Final-Protocol.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1547929562365000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGeyXWHLu97l9FxATSoMqU3wn0rww\">hier<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Based on input and discussion, one modification was made to the draft protocol, which was to increase the required amount of time for a physically injured victim to seek medical attention for their injuries (increasing the time from 48 hours to 7 days in light of the fires). No other changes were made to the document.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The deadline for submitting a claim is February 18, 2019<\/strong>. Girls Club des Gro\u00dfraums Oxnard und Port Hueneme<\/strong>\u00a0to help cover expenses related to serving children during school closures.<\/li>\n<li>$5.000 bis\u00a0<strong>Fly-Hope Dream<\/strong>\u00a0to cover flights for fire survivors.<\/li>\n<li>$10.000 bis\u00a0<strong>Little Angels Project<\/strong>\u00a0to cover costs of veterinary care for injured animals.<\/li>\n<li>$16,000 to\u00a0<strong>Lockwood Tierrettungszentrum<\/strong>\u00a0to provide lodging and basic needs for people and animals.<\/li>\n<li>$100,000 to\u00a0<strong>Salvation Army<\/strong>\u00a0for case management and basic needs assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please remind all nonprofit organizations responding to the needs from the fires to complete and submit their brief application at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vccf.org\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/vccf.org&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1547929562365000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEkrTzQmdaRxq0_KElB-PXggyF9bg\">www.vccf.org<\/a>.<strong> Organizations can submit more than one time as needs arise.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>VCCF-Stipendienprogramm<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\nIn an unrelated effort to support our community, the Ventura County Community Foundation\u2019s Annual Scholarship Program is still accepting applications for local students pursuing their career and educational goals.
