It is truly an exciting time with so much activity buzzing around making highest-quality early childhood education accessible to all!<\/p>\n
At the end of April, we convened an in-person Steering Committee Meeting where VIVA Social Impact Partners shared findings from hundreds of survey responses from parents, caregivers, and early educators in Santa Paula. From there we began developing roadmap strategies together, further adding to these during our May meeting. Over the next few weeks, VIVA will be testing many of these strategies through a series of focus groups, gathering feedback from ECE providers and families. We will learn more about feedback from these focus groups during the\u00a0August 13th Steering Committee Meeting<\/strong>!<\/p>\n On the business front, the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce is well on its way to educating the business community about the Isabella Project, gaining some additional insights from employers and employees in terms of their child care needs and sharing resources currently available.<\/p>\n Two Operator Committee Meetings have taken place this year, where ECE operators, along with colleges and other supporting organizations share and learn from each other to identify possible quality, workforce and access solutions for Santa Paula. The Operator Committee is now officially called the Early Childhood Action Committee, to more accurately depict the group’s role.<\/p>\n We are also proud to introduce the Isabella Project’s new tagline: Todos Juntos…por los Ni\u00f1os\/All (of us) Together for the Children.<\/p>\n We recently received word that we’ve been selected as a recipient of the League of California Community Foundations grant to help fund a “Todos Juntos Por Los Ni\u00f1os” series of events and we could not be more grateful! Mark your calendars for\u00a0August 24th’s Children’s Festival in Santa Paula<\/strong>, where we will bring together children and families, ECE professionals, local children’s programs and service organizations, and the entire community for a fun-filled day that also offers educational resources and information for families. Stay tuned for more information!<\/p>\nWe will also be collaborating with the community on a mural project in Santa Paula that showcases the importance and benefits derived from early childhood education and the nurturing and safety of children based on their civil and human rights. This mural project aims to highlight the impact of the Isabella Project in a visual way. These public-facing murals will serve as a constant reminder of the beauty of children and the need for nurturance and protection as a critical investment in our future.
