Estimado Comit\u00e9 Directivo del Proyecto Isabella,<\/p>\n\t
We’re very excited about the initiation of two early childhood education centers at two local elementary schools by the Santa Paula Unified School District adding to current offerings by First Five, Child Development Resources and the Mexican-American Opportunities Foundation. We’re hopeful that additional slots and opportunities will be made available as we move into the next school year. While the funding and attention has generally focused on serving three and four year old children, let us not forget that we will eventually be strategizing to address the needs of even younger children, infants and toddlers. Research shows that the most rapid period of brain development occurs within the first three years of life, laying the foundation for all future learning, behavior and health. Infants and toddlers thrive when their parents and caregivers are healthy and supported with adequate resources, but parents are often stretched in the earliest months and years of children’s lives. Perhaps one of the best strategies for addressing this barrier is the provision of high-quality child care and this is an area that the Isabella Project will be prioritizing in the future.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tWelcome to Our Newest Members!\n\t\t\t\t
