The funds will help support the distribution of healthy food to nearly 75,000 people each month in Ventura County. \u2026 The\u00a0<strong>Boys &amp; Girls Clubs de Greater Conejo Valley<\/strong>\u00a0recently held a groundbreaking ceremony following a generous donation from\u00a0<strong>John Notter<\/strong>\u00a0at the 2016\u00a0<strong>Stand Up for Kids Gala<\/strong>where he also served as the honoree. The funds are being used to expand the (former) Redwood Club at Redwood Middle School, 233 W. Gainsborough Road in Thousand Oaks. The club is now known as the\u00a0<strong>John L. Notter Family Boys &amp; Girls Club<\/strong>; the expansion will create an 8,000-square-foot permanent facility and will double the number of youth currently served by the clubs, also increasing quality programming for its members. \u2026 The\u00a0<strong>Sinfon\u00eda del Nuevo Oeste<\/strong>\u00a0received a total of more than $35,000 in grants for its\u00a0<strong>Harmony Project of Ventura County<\/strong>. The $18,525 from the\u00a0<strong>Fondo Barbara Barnard Smith para las M\u00fasicas del Mundo<\/strong>\u00a0(operated by the Ventura County Community Foundation) will be used to include Latin American music in the Harmony Project\u2019s curriculum, offering students the opportunity to diversify their musical knowledge and build pride in their cultural identities. The $14,000 from the\u00a0<strong>city of San Buenaventura\u2019s Parks, Recreation and Community Partnerships Department\u00a0<\/strong>and $2,500 from\u00a0<strong>Montecito Bank and Trust<\/strong>\u00a0will foster the project\u2019s mission. \u2026\u00a0<strong>Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG)<\/strong>\u00a0received a $7,500 grant from\u00a0<strong>Reiter Affiliated Companies<\/strong>, the largest fresh, multiberry producer in the world and the leading supplier of fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries in North America.
