Residents of Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills and Westlake Village are returning home to assess the damage, while Malibu\u00a0still faces fire threats along the city\u2019s western edge and through Malibu Creek. Some 370 structures have been destroyed\u2014an estimate that continued to grow throughout the weekend\u2014while over 3,000 emergency personnel are still assigned to stopping the fire.<\/p>\n<p>The upsetting situation has inspired many Angelenos to ask how they can help. The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wildfirerecovery.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Oficina de Servicios de Emergencia del Gobernador de California<\/a>\u00a0maintains a robust collection of information about recovery services, but we\u2019ve gone ahead and picked out a few of our favorite local options to which you can immediately contribute. And just a quick aside: Please steer clear of the still very dangerous front lines and instead stick to these charitable options.<\/p>\n<h3>Emergency responders<\/h3>\n<p>To be clear, the Los Angeles Fire Department does\u00a0<em>not<\/em>\u00a0need any personal care items, food\u00a0or water. Instead, LAFD\u00a0suggests long-term support for firefighters by donating to the following charities:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/firefamilyfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Fundaci\u00f3n Familia de Fuego<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/supportlafd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Fundaci\u00f3n del Departamento de Bomberos de Los \u00c1ngeles<\/a>\u00a0y\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wodff.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Widows, Orphans &amp; Disabled Firemen\u2019s Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re able to open your own home,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbnb.com\/welcome\/evacuees\/venturacounty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Airbnb is promoting free rentals<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0both evacuated residents and deployed\u00a0relief workers.<\/p>\n<h3>Displaced residents<\/h3>\n<p>En\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcross.org\/local\/california\/los-angeles\/about-us\/our-work\/wildfires-response.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Cruz Roja<\/a>, in addition to opening three evacuation centers, is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcross.org\/donate\/donation.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">accepting monetary donations<\/a>\u00a0specifically for the fires (just choose \u201cCalifornia wildfires\u201d in the \u201cI want to support\u2026\u201d dropdown menu).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedwayla.org\/en\/give\/disaster-relief-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">United Way de Los \u00c1ngeles<\/a>, in partnership with United Way of Ventura County, has started a disaster relief fund specifically for the Hill and Woolsey Fires that supports low income families.<\/p>\n<h3>Animals in need<\/h3>\n<p>Both the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lacountyanimals.org\/give\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Fundaci\u00f3n para el Cuidado de los Animales del Condado de Los \u00c1ngeles<\/a>\u00a0y\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsvc.org\/donate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Sociedad Humanitaria del Condado de Ventura<\/a>are accepting donations to support their shelters.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re interested in bringing a new pet into your home, please consider visiting your closest shelter; more spaces open in animal shelters means more orphaned pets that are able to be accommodated.<\/p>\n<h3>Food for a cause<\/h3>\n<p>On November 16, Lemonade\u2019s Westlake Village location will donate all of its proceeds to the Ventura County community to support the victims and families of the Woolsey Fire and Borderline Bar &amp; Grill shooting.
