CAMARILLO, CA – <\/b>The document which will determine the process and distribution protocols for awarding financial support to qualified applicants of the <\/span>Fondo para las V\u00edctimas de Conejo Valley<\/span><\/a> has been finalized. This Final Protocol, formerly the Draft Final Protocol, was shared with the general public to ensure that concerned community members had an opportunity to provide comment and ask questions. Two public forums were hosted to invite feedback to the Draft Final Protocol document on January 3rd at the Scherr Forum Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on input and discussion, one modification was made to the Draft Final Protocol document: the amount of time for a physically injured victim to seek medical attention for their injuries was increased from 48 hours to 7 days. No other changes were made.<\/span><\/p>\n

Applications to receive funding are currently open for families of the victims who were killed, the victims who were physically injured, and those present inside the Borderline Bar & Grill that tragic night. <\/span><\/p>\n

Total funds raised to date for the Conejo Valley Victims Fund exceeds $1.7 million, and can be attributed to the outpouring of support from generous individuals and organizations across the globe. <\/span><\/p>\n

“Our community has suffered major tragedies over the past few weeks,\u201d says George Carney, President of Sherwood Cares – an organization that contributed $110,000 to support recovery efforts. \u201cIt is important to support our friends and neighbors right here in our own backyard and we will continue to collaborate with our local agencies on longer terms needs.
