{"id":9777,"date":"2020-01-17T15:27:49","date_gmt":"2020-01-17T23:27:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vccf.org\/?p=9777"},"modified":"2025-01-29T07:47:49","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T07:47:49","slug":"ventura-county-sheriffs-foundation-receives-donation-for-new-training-facility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vccf.org\/es\/ventura-county-sheriffs-foundation-receives-donation-for-new-training-facility\/","title":{"rendered":"La Fundaci\u00f3n del Sheriff del Condado de Ventura recibe una donaci\u00f3n para un nuevo centro de formaci\u00f3n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>VENTURA, Calif.<\/strong> &#8211; The Ventura County Sheriff&#8217;s Foundation received a $250,000 donation from the Dr. Richard Grossman Community Foundation that will be used to help design and build a new live fire training facility in Camarillo.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry__content\">\n<p>This donation was given in honor of Lane Weitzman, a long-time member of the Ventura community and supporter of the Ventura County Sheriff&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Weitzman was described as a good friend of former Sheriff Geoff Dean as well as a proficient shooter who frequented Dr. Grossman&#8217;s Brookfield Farms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cLane was a wonderful friend of my husband\u2019s. It\u2019s so fitting that the Foundation is able to honor Lane with this donation.\u00a0Having a resource such as this facility available to all first responders will have a profound impact upon our community.\u00a0We are so grateful for this opportunity,\u201d said Elizabeth Grossman.<\/p>\n<p>The Sheriff&#8217;s Foundation is using the donation to help fund a new tactical training center in honor of Sgt. Ron Helus.
