These live virtual sessions help community members learn about their local candidates or representatives and ask questions about their policy plans and priorities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-de5963d elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"de5963d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Fondation communautaire du Census.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\" data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">\n<p>The foundation\u2019s CEO co-chaired the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/venturacountycounts.org\/committee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ventura County 2020 Complete Count Committee<\/a>, a regional coalition of 150 community leaders that worked together to ensure a full, fair and accurate count across the county.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42586b9 dce_masking-none elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"42586b9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<div href=\"https:\/\/venturacountycounts.org\/toolkit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Complete Count Toolkit<\/a>, and a series of local outreach events with a focus on hard-to-count communities.<\/p>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-456e67c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"456e67c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n<p>The foundation also made grants to strengthen the capacity of local nonprofit organizations supporting Census outreach and supported the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/venturacountycounts.org\/somos-vecinos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Somos Vecinos<\/a>\u201d neighbor-to-neighbor Spanish language outreach campaign.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dad2a76 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"dad2a76\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\" data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\" data-uw-styling-context=\"true\">\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Originally projected to be in the lowest 2% of counties for Census self-response rates, ultimately Ventura County reached one of the highest rates in the country, ending up in the top 5% of over 3,000 counties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">That means many more federal dollars flowing to Ventura County over the next ten years \u2013 an accomplishment that coalition partners <a href=\"https:\/\/venturacountycounts.org\/save-the-date-census-celebration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">celebrated<\/a>\u00a0with the community foundation in December 2020.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b19db52 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b19db52\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Central Valley Community Foundation<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c140157 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c140157\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnodrive.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fresno DRIVE (Developing the Region\u2019s Inclusive and Vibrant Economy)<\/a>\u00a0is a 10-year investment plan to develop an inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable economy for residents in the greater Fresno region. Sponsored by the Central Valley Community Foundation, DRIVE is supported by the James Irvine Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>DRIVE\u2019s Civic Infrastructure initiative is a strategy of community engagement that advances authentic place-based, resident centered strategies to transform power relationships in our under-resourced, extreme poverty neighborhoods that will lead to thriving communities.<\/p>\n<p>DRIVE is investing in 9 community-based organizations, serving as Neighborhood Hubs. Each of these Neighborhood Hubs, are focusing on the development of the residents that live in their respective neighborhoods. Koshland Civic Unity Program, established in 1982 by the San Francisco Foundation, recognizes Bay Area grassroots risk-takers and makes a five-year $300,000 investment in their community.
