EDC-VC uses various programs and services to support jobs and economic growth to maintain Ventura County\u2019s economic vitality.<\/p>\n<h4>Au nom de la charit\u00e9<\/h4>\n<p><strong>NewCo Foundation<\/strong>, a local nonprofit that focuses on student career education and startup company activities, received $5 million from its founders,\u00a0<strong>Dave\u00a0<\/strong>et<strong>\u00a0Dawn Gross<\/strong>. The endowment will support the Foundation\u2019s ongoing operational programs, other local student career education and startup company programs, and begin making program-related investments in promising startups. \u2026\u00a0<strong>FOOD Share<\/strong>\u00a0received a $12,500 donation from the\u00a0<strong>Dunkin\u2019 Donuts Joy in Childhood Foundation<\/strong>. The funds will help support the distribution of healthy food to nearly 75,000 people each month in Ventura County. \u2026 The\u00a0<strong>Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley (Clubs gar\u00e7ons et filles de la grande vall\u00e9e de Conejo)<\/strong>\u00a0recently held a groundbreaking ceremony following a generous donation from\u00a0<strong>John Notter<\/strong>\u00a0at the 2016\u00a0<strong>Stand Up for Kids Gala<\/strong>where he also served as the honoree. The funds are being used to expand the (former) Redwood Club at Redwood Middle School, 233 W. Gainsborough Road in Thousand Oaks. The club is now known as the\u00a0<strong>John L. Notter Family Boys &amp; Girls Club<\/strong>; the expansion will create an 8,000-square-foot permanent facility and will double the number of youth currently served by the clubs, also increasing quality programming for its members. \u2026 The\u00a0<strong>New West Symphony<\/strong>\u00a0received a total of more than $35,000 in grants for its\u00a0<strong>Harmony Project of Ventura County<\/strong>. The $18,525 from the\u00a0<strong>Fonds Barbara Barnard Smith pour les musiques du monde<\/strong>\u00a0(operated by the Ventura County Community Foundation) will be used to include Latin American music in the Harmony Project\u2019s curriculum, offering students the opportunity to diversify their musical knowledge and build pride in their cultural identities. The $14,000 from the\u00a0<strong>city of San Buenaventura\u2019s Parks, Recreation and Community Partnerships Department\u00a0<\/strong>and $2,500 from\u00a0<strong>Montecito Bank and Trust<\/strong>\u00a0will foster the project\u2019s mission. \u2026\u00a0<strong>Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG)<\/strong>\u00a0received a $7,500 grant from\u00a0<strong>Soci\u00e9t\u00e9s affili\u00e9es \u00e0 Reiter<\/strong>, the largest fresh, multiberry producer in the world and the leading supplier of fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries in North America.
