Community support fund tops $1M

A fund managed by the Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) to support families in need, including undocumented farmworkers, has bypassed the $1 million mark in grantmaking.
The Ventura County Neighbors Support Coalition and Fund was established in July 2025. Recent recipients include 805 UndocuFund, ATLAS-Ventura Housing, Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo, HELP of Ojai, People’s Self-Help Housing, Rescue Mission Alliance Ventura County, Safe Passage Youth Foundation and United Parents.
Some of the grantees spoke about the impact the funds are making during a “Ventura County Neighbors Support Coalition and Fund Stories of Impact” event earlier this year.
VCCF Board Chair Leah Lacayo said hundreds of people donated to the fund.
“We are all a part of the fabric of our Ventura County community and especially during times of hardship, we each bring what we can to support one another. That is what makes Ventura County so great,” Lacayo said.
