The grants, ranging from\u00a0<span class=\"xn-money\">$200,000<\/span>\u00a0\u3078\u306e\u00a0<span class=\"xn-money\">$250,000<\/span>, were funded by proceeds from &#8220;California Rises&#8221;, the\u00a0<span class=\"xn-chron\">January 8<\/span><sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0benefit concert held to mark the inauguration of Gov.\u00a0<span class=\"xn-person\">Gavin Newsom<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring name musical acts such as Common and Pitbull, &#8220;California Rises&#8221; was conceived by then Gov.-elect Newsom as a substitute for a more traditional inaugural gala. Through sponsorships, ticket sales and merchandise, the event netted more than\u00a0<span class=\"xn-money\">$4.6 million<\/span>\u00a0for long-term wildfire recovery in areas hardest hit by the fires. The\u00a0<span class=\"xn-location\">\u30ab\u30ea\u30d5\u30a9\u30eb\u30cb\u30a2<\/span>\u00a0Fire Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, was the fiduciary sponsor of the concert.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As firefighters, we are part of the communities we are sworn to protect,&#8221; said\u00a0<span class=\"xn-person\">Brian K. Rice<\/span>, chair of the\u00a0<span class=\"xn-location\">\u30ab\u30ea\u30d5\u30a9\u30eb\u30cb\u30a2<\/span>\u00a0Fire Foundation. &#8220;We appreciate the trust the governor showed in our Foundation to do right by the communities hit hardest by the effects of these catastrophic fires.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The first phase of grants, totaling more than\u00a0<span class=\"xn-money\">$3 million<\/span>, targeted community foundations and other groups who have been working since the events of 2017 and 2018 to help those in affected areas help to rebuild their lives and recover from the devastation. Recipient organizations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>\u30ce\u30fc\u30b9\u30fb\u30d0\u30ec\u30fc\u30fb\u30b3\u30df\u30e5\u30cb\u30c6\u30a3\u8ca1\u56e3<\/b>, supporting direct assistance for Camp Fire survivors and funding locally-based assistance;<\/li>\n<li><b>\u30d3\u30e5\u30fc\u30c8\u90e1\u6559\u80b2\u5c40<\/b>, supporting mental and emotional counseling and wellness for children, teachers and families struck by the fire;<\/li>\n<li><b>\u76f4\u63a5\u6551\u6e08<\/b>, a statewide aid organization providing long-term health care support and emergency assistance for victims of all the fires;<\/li>\n<li>\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u00a0<b>\u30ab\u30ea\u30d5\u30a9\u30eb\u30cb\u30a2\u30fb\u30b3\u30df\u30e5\u30cb\u30c6\u30a3\u8ca1\u56e3<\/b>, which supports vulnerable communities hit hard by the Hill, Thomas and Woolsey Fires in\u00a0<span class=\"xn-location\">Southern California<\/span>;<\/li>\n<li>\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u00a0<b>\u30d9\u30f3\u30c1\u30e5\u30e9\u90e1\u30b3\u30df\u30e5\u30cb\u30c6\u30a3\u8ca1\u56e3<\/b>, providing housing and mental health support for surviving families;<\/li>\n<li><b>Shasta Regional Community Foundation<\/b>, for gap and reconstruction funding after the Camp Fire;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An additional\u00a0<span class=\"xn-money\">$1.5 million<\/span>\u00a0from California Rises will be combined with separate gifts to provide ongoing long-term recovery support that will include the fires that hit Northern and\u00a0<span class=\"xn-location\">Southern California<\/span>\u00a0in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Created in 1987 by California Professional Firefighters, the\u00a0<span class=\"xn-location\">\u30ab\u30ea\u30d5\u30a9\u30eb\u30cb\u30a2<\/span>\u00a0Fire Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial and economic support for fallen firefighter families, firefighters and the communities they protect.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SACRAMENTO, Calif.,\u00a0Dec. 23, 2019\u00a0\/PRNewswire\/ &#8212;\u00a0The long and hard work of rebuilding communities shattered by catastrophic wildfire has gotten an important assist as\u00a0California\u00a0continues to rise from the ashes.
