This vital effort is committed to providing immediate financial assistance to low-income families and seniors affected by the devastating flooding that occurred on December 21, 2023. Donations can be made online at vccf.org/storm-fund or by calling (805) 330-6976.

The catastrophic flooding left over 400 homes severely damaged, with water levels exceeding 18 inches in many instances, resulting in significant destruction. Of particular concern are the seniors in low-income communities, a significant portion of whom lack insurance coverage for flood-related damages. With FEMA assistance unavailable due to not meeting the required threshold of 1,200 affected structures, community members find themselves without support. This includes low-income families, undocumented individuals and seniors who are now grappling with the aftermath of the disaster.

“The Ventura County Storm Fund represents a collaborative effort to extend a helping hand to those in our community who have been disproportionately impacted by the recent flooding,” said Patrick Maynard, Director of the Office of Emergency Services for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. “Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of families and seniors who are currently grappling with the devastating consequences of this unforeseen event.”

Donations to the Ventura County Storm Fund will provide emergency financial assistance to those most severely impacted.
