Toda a comunidade da VCCF est\u00e1 muito orgulhosa de v\u00f3s, por terem ultrapassado desafios pessoais e crescido para al\u00e9m dos contratempos da pandemia de Covid-19. \u00c9 uma honra para a VCCF, para os nossos muitos e generosos doadores que tornam este apoio poss\u00edvel e para os volunt\u00e1rios do nosso comit\u00e9 de sele\u00e7\u00e3o de bolsas de estudo, estar ao vosso lado, enquanto trabalham para realizar os vossos sonhos educativos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>N\u00e3o podemos enfatizar o suficiente o quanto estamos orgulhosos de todos v\u00f3s e de todas as vossas realiza\u00e7\u00f5es, e estamos muito entusiasmados por ver o que o futuro vos reserva!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O nosso comit\u00e9 de sele\u00e7\u00e3o<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estamos imensamente gratos pela dedica\u00e7\u00e3o do nosso comit\u00e9 de recolha de bolsas de estudo. Esta \u00e9poca, os nossos incr\u00edveis volunt\u00e1rios leram mais de 6000 candidaturas de 980 candidatos. Em m\u00e9dia, cada volunt\u00e1rio leu 60 candidaturas, totalizando milhares de horas de trabalho coletivo para ajudar os nossos alunos a alcan\u00e7ar os seus sonhos acad\u00e9micos. In the last 11 months, our major goal has been to\u00a0take\u00a0a\u00a0closer\u00a0look\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0systems\u00a0we\u00a0use\u00a0to\u00a0administer\u00a0this\u00a0program\u00a0and\u00a0work\u00a0to\u00a0improve\u00a0and\u00a0streamline\u00a0those\u00a0systems and related processes, as the program continues to grow each year. We want to be able to scale this work and give our team more time to be in the field recruiting new partners and broaden our application pool. One of the biggest changes we made was to really leverage our technology to lighten the administrative burden of this program, and it has paid off!!! We are now using our online scholarship platform to confirm scholarship awards and collect required paperwork from students. This simple change has not only saved many, many trees, but staff time, postage and scholarship processing time. In July 2023, we were able to process and mail more than 100 scholarship checks to colleges and universities throughout the country. This is a huge improvement over the past years. The other priority we are working on is a \u201cdeep dive\u201d audit on our scholarship portfolios. I want to send a very special thank you to my partner in this work, Tracy Tagawa, VCCF\u2019s Compliance Director. While at times it felt like were drinking from the firehose, we stuck together, learned a lot, and at times and laughed out loud after finishing each other\u2019s sentences. Finally, I want to thank another fantastic partner in this work, our Scholarship Coordinator Emily Marostica, who started with us in January. Emily picked this work up in no time, and her database knowledge is incredible. She comes to work each day with a smile and a can-do spirit, and I am so thankful for her partnership in this work.
