Kære Ventura County Community Foundation-familie,

I løbet af de sidste par uger har din generøsitet mindet os alle i din lokale fond om, at små handlinger af medfølelse og venlighed gør en verden til forskel. Mit hjerte går ud til dig i taknemmelighed, tak!

Mens krigen i Ukraine fortsætterSå mange i vores fondsfamilie har kontaktet os og bedt om vejledning i, hvordan vi bedst kan støtte dem, der flygter for at komme i sikkerhed. Sammen har vi sørget over ofrene for forfærdelig vold og har kæmpet, mens vi fortsat er vidne til, at millioner mister hjem, samfund og deres kære på få øjeblikke.

Endnu en gang er du trådt frem og har gennem dine handlinger vist, at når vi er allermest bange, og når vi er allermest kede af det, Den lille handling at give er et af de mest dybtgående og kraftfulde værktøjer, vi har til at skabe den forandring, vi ønsker..

Der er bogstaveligt talt dusinvis af nonprofitorganisationer, der arbejder for at hjælpeherunder vores søsterfonde i udlandet. Ednannia støtter for eksempel det største netværk af lokale fonde i Ukraine.. Council on Foundations har også udgivet vejledning i at give tilskud til at hjælpe dem, der er hårdest ramt af den humanitære krise. Deres budskab til os: "Vi er alle vigtige, og vi har alle evnen til at hjælpe.."

Hvis du, ligesom jeg, længes efter øjeblikke med stille refleksion og håb, Jeg kan varmt anbefale at lytte til "Drømmeren" af Immanuel Wilkins. Jeg elsker bare dette stykke musik - jeg har det faktisk på repeat, mens jeg skriver dette - og hans tankevækkende stil inspirerer mig til at holde fokus og huske, hvad vi kan udrette, når vi alle står sammen.

Uddannelse for alle

Den Styregruppe for Santa Paula Early Childhood Education mødtes i februar for at diskutere kritiske tiltag for bringe gratis småbørnsundervisning af højeste kvalitet til alle små børn i Santa Paula. Ventura County Community Foundation er stolt af at støtte denne store og vigtige indsats. Dette historiske projekt har til formål at hjælpe næsten 1.000 børn mellem 3 og 4 år hvert år. Historisk overførsel af rigdom

Den 3. marts, VCCF var medarrangør af workshoppen Nonprofit Leadership Council med CLU Center for Nonprofit Leadership. Denne session fokuserede på den nyligt opdaterede Overførsel af rigdom undersøgelse og analyse bestilt af VCCF om donorlandskabet i Ventura County, herunder rige data om formuetendenser, donorpræferencer og hvordan nonprofitorganisationer kan være forberedt og positioneret til den største generationsoverførsel af formue i vores nations historie.. Som vores venner i California Community Foundation siger: "Dette er ikke en mulighed for at ordne tingene i dag. Tree Mitigation Efforts in Ventura County

Den County of Ventura’s Sustainability Division’s mission is to support sensible growth, healthy environment and economy, enhanced quality of life, inclusion and equity, and greater self-reliance throughout all of Ventura County. Our County’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) related implementation program of the County’s General Plan which assigns the Resource Management Agency, General Services Agency, and County Executive Office to work jointly to conduct tree planting activities with the goal of planting at least one thousand trees annually.

This webinar serves as the first step in the County of Ventura’s Sustainability Division’s efforts of establishing thoughtful collaboration with all stakeholders involved in preserving Ventura County’s tree canopy along with sharing and strengthening forestry resources. CERF Economic Forecast

This year’s Annual Ventura County Economic Forecast hosted by the California Lutheran University Center for Economic Research and Forecasting (CERF) was back in person on March 8, hosted by CERF Executive Director Matthew Fienup. This premier networking and forecast event included an in-depth analysis of the county’s economic performance and an assessment of its economic and demographic future, as well as detailed analysis and forecasts for the United States and California economies.

Rising from the Ashes Home Tour

Den Ventura County Library Foundation is excited to announce the long-awaited Rising from the Ashes Home Tour is back on. On Saturday, April 30, the strength and resilience of Ventura will be in view during a tour of some of the beautifully rebuilt homes. It will be clear the Thomas Fire of 2017 caused devastation, but not defeat.

Tickets are $40, and all proceeds will go to support the work of Ventura County libraries. These donations will enable VCLF to fund important literacy programs, the Mobile Library, broader access to the internet and computers to close the digital divide, homework tutoring, STEAM initiatives, and much more.

The homes’ distinctive and unique architecture captures the views from these hills while new landscaping embraces fire mitigation measures. This unique opportunity to tour newly rebuilt homes in the Ondulando, Clearpoint, and Skyline areas of Ventura promises to be a delightful afternoon that will showcase resilience, creativity, and beauty of six spectacular Ventura hillside residences.
