Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund

CAMARILLO, CA 4/6/2026 – The Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund announces its sixth round of grantmaking at $139,000 to 11 nonprofits supporting local families and individuals experiencing hardship and disruption. Established in July 2025, this humanitarian coalition of 32 partners convened by the Ventura County Community Foundation offers a coordinated, trusted way for residents to step up and support one another. In total, the coalition has granted out more than $1 million to date, and donations are still being accepted to support this ongoing work.

“We are grateful to the hundreds of donors throughout Ventura County who have contributed to this effort,” said VCCF Board Chair Leah Lacayo. “We are all a part of the fabric of our Ventura County community and especially during times of hardship, we each bring what we can to support one another. That is what makes Ventura County so great!”

Grantees for this round include 805 UndocuFund; ATLAS-Ventura Housing; Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo; Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. in Ventura County; City Impact; HELP of Ojai; Nate’s Place, A Wellness and Recovery Center; People’s Self-Help Housing; Rescue Mission Alliance Ventura County; Safe Passage Youth Foundation and United Parents, bringing the total number of local groups receiving grant support from the fund to 43 nonprofits, education groups and local organizations.

The Neighbors Support Fund & Coalition is led by 32 community partners and counting. The broad coalition behind the fund includes business, civic, nonprofit, education and faith-based leaders from across Ventura County. Multiple cities have joined as partners of the vital humanitarian effort as well, including Thousand Oaks, Port Hueneme, Fillmore, Ventura and Camarillo.

Rounds of grantmaking for the fund open as donations are received on a rolling basis. One hundred percent of every contribution to the Neighbors Support Fund directly supports:

  • Food, transportation and essential supplies for families in need
  • Emergency shelter and rental assistance
  • Critical services provided by schools, neighborhood centers, business and economic development centers and community-based organizations
  • Additional essential needs as they emerge

While these contributions are making a meaningful impact on the lives of our neighbors, the need is still great. For anyone looking for ways to support the community but are not sure how, we welcome you to get involved through the Ventura County Neighbors Support Fund.
