City Names Top 10 Award Winners

Mayor Charlotte Craven and Camarillo Chamber of Commerce board chair Tania Garcia announced the 51st annual Camarillo’s Top Ten Community Award winners at the City Council meeting Jan. 24.

The winners will be honored at an awards banquet and ceremony from 6 to 9 p.m. Fri., March 23 at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo.

The following people, businesses and organizations will receive this year’s awards:

Man of the Year: Christopher Meissner.

Woman of the Year: Jann Huling.

Business of the Year: Z-Power.

Entrepreneur of the Year: Skyler Ditchfield of Geolinks.

Public Servant of the Year: Senior Dep. Shawn Holzberger of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

Service Organization of the Year: Ventura County Community Foundation.

Educator of the Year: Carolyn Alexander.

Volunteer of the Year: David Schlangen.

Youth of the Year: Mallorie Mehrali.

Senior of the Year: Sylvia Fulton.

Stan Daily Lifetime Achievement Award: Richard Rush, president of California State University Channel Islands.

Philanthropist of the Year: E.J. Harrison and Sons.

Each year, nominations of organizations and individuals whose actions have contributed to the betterment of Camarillo are submitted to the Chamber of Commerce.

Winners were chosen through a point system by a selection committee of sponsors and business professionals.
