(Thousand Oaks, Ca) Community members in Thousand Oaks and throughout Ventura County have come together to support the victims of last night’s tragedy at Borderline Bar & Grill.

From blood donations, to fundraising for the victims, to standing on the side of Lynn Road to pay their respect, Ventura County residents offered their support.

“As our city moves through this tragedy, our hearts are with all of those impacted in this community and beyond. We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support, and will be here with all of you as we move through the healing process together,” said Drew Powers, City Manager for the City of Thousand Oaks.

“The Amgen family woke up today both horrified by last night’s tragedy and determined to do our part to support our community in this time of need,” Cynthia M. Patton, Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Amgen, and Chairperson of the Amgen Foundation Board, said. “Amgen will work closely with the Ventura County Community Foundation and the City of Thousand Oaks to ensure that those touched by this event are supported in every way possible.”

“Community foundations stand together, so we are all bound by our responsibility to serve in times of crisis,” Antonia Hernández from the California Community Foundation said. “Our hearts are broken but our resolve is strong to offer our support to the short and long term needs of the community.”

“We all share the grief at the events of last evening that have affected all of us," California Lutheran University President, Chris Kimball stated. “Our prayers are with the victims and their families.”
