Partial Vaccinations Reach 60% For Ventura County Residents Age 16 or Older

42.8% of Same Population Have Received Two Vaccine Doses

Approximately 60% of Ventura County residents age 16 and older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, according to the latest public health update,

The proportion of residents with at least one vaccine dose exceeds the California statewide rate of 39.1% for the same population. As of Friday, the county has administered 617,876 vaccine doses, an increase of 57,898 doses from last Friday. The data includes 407,516 first doses administered and 237,840 second doses, the latter of which represents 32.8% of residents age 16 and older.

In an effort to combat declining vaccination rates among Ventura County residents, county officials launched a public outreach campaign Friday with the Ventura County Community Foundation and the Complete Reach Committee. Since Monday, Ventura County has recorded 115 new COVID-19 cases and two additional deaths, bringing county totals up to 80,617 cases and 1,009 deaths.

The deaths this week include a 40-year-old woman and a 90-year-old woman, according to county health officials.

Among nonfatal cases, Ventura County has 173 actively infectious cases, while 79,435 have recovered from the virus. There are currently 13 patients with COVID-19 hospitalized in the county, two of whom are receiving treatment within intensive care units. The county processed 5,727 COVID-19 test results on Friday, bringing the total number of tests performed up to 1.39 million.

Vaccines are open to all residents age 16 and older. Appointments can be made by visiting MyTurn.ca.gov. The next data update will be provided Monday. More information is available at www.vcrecovers.org.
