The Conejo Simi Moorpark Association of Realtors has donated $6,000 to benefit victims of the Borderline Bar & Grill shooting and $5,000 to assist victims of the Camp Fire in Northern California.
The $6,000 donation was made to the Ventura County Community Foundation, which is collecting money for families, law enforcement and organizations providing support to the Borderline victims.
“Realtors are an integral part of their communities, and when those communities suffer our first instinct is to do what we can to give back,” association President Gayle Sutton said in a news release. “Nothing will bring back the 12 victims of the Borderline slayings or the dozens of people who died in the Camp Fire, but their families and friends need assistance and to know people care about them, and we hope these donations will assist those efforts.”
Also, the association and other Southern California Realtor groups are working to secure funding to help victims of the Woolsey Fire. Sutton said the association hopes to be able to provide more information soon.
