Dear Ventura County Community Foundation Family,

The unspeakable tragedy that occurred last night in Thousand Oaks is just devastating. I sit here in tears as I think of the twelve members of our community, including a Ventura County Sheriff Sargent, who were killed during the mass shooting at a local’s favorite night club.

While the horror washes over all of us, many of you from the region and around the country are leaping into action to support the victims, families and organizations providing first and second line support. Ventura County Community Foundation, in coordination with the City of Thousand Oaks, Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the Amgen Foundation, California Community Foundation, Edison International, and so many others, has set up a specific fund to serve this purpose. 100% of these funds will go to those impacted and organizations serving our community (

Please help us spread the word in our efforts to support our community as we face the far-reaching effects from this heartbreaking event.

Together we mourn. Together we stand.

Yours in Service,
