VCCF named 2019 Nonprofit of the Year in the 44th District

We are deeply humbled to share that your community foundation, the Ventura County Community Foundation, has been selected as 2019 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, representing the 44th California Assembly District.

Today, June 5th, as we return from a heartwarming luncheon at our State’s Capitol, where we joined one hundred other tremendous nonprofit leaders also honored by their state senators and assembly members, our thoughts turn to you.

For the past thirty-two years, VCCF has been dedicated to raising and distributing funds to address our county’s most pressing needs. Each year we award millions of dollars to worthy initiatives and local causes, in addition to opening doors to higher education for hundreds of local students via our robust scholarship program. In 2017 and 2018, we responded to several large community disasters, providing millions of dollars in relief to those affected by the Thomas, Woosley, and Hill Fires. With your support, we established the Conejo Valley Victims Fund to distribute more than $4 million in aid to the victims’ families and survivors of the mass shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks.

None of this would be possible without you.

We also want to congratulate 805Help.org and Emily Barany, who was also recognized by Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson.

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity of spirit and giving. On the heels of such devastating tragedies over the past year, it has been inspiring to watch Ventura County come together to help rebuild and to support our neighbors. It has been our honor to work with you as we harness this community’s compassion and determination to heal and move forward.

We are so honored that Assemblymember Irwin has chosen to recognize the Ventura County Community Foundation as 2019 Nonprofits of the Year. To be selected among so many incredible nonprofit organizations is a tribute to the tremendous impact that our work together has on people’s lives. We share this honor with you, our community.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
