I have a donor advised fund with VCCF to help animals. I wrote a mission statement for my fund, so that I can still be helping animals even after I’m gone. It’s a dream come true, and I am so grateful to VCCF for helping make this happen.

Denise and I feel blessed that we are able to give back to our community and blessed that the team at VCCF can be counted on to assure that our funds are used wisely and compassionately. We rely on their guidance, knowledge, and experience to make every dollar count and applied where it is most needed.

VCCF donors don't just give their funds to nonprofits; we also give our time. From the Point in Time Homeless Count to the Food Share CAN-tree Drive and so many other opportunities to get involved, we have the privilege to be part of the good work being done around our county.

VCCF and the Donor Peer Network have been invaluable resources for us. They have brought important local needs and opportunities to us that we have been proud to support.

Giving through the Ventura County Community Foundation is where I feel what I give will have a greater impact, and reach many more in our shared community... I don't think I can change the world, but I think I can contribute to making Ventura County even better.

I am driven by the belief that education can be transformative—not just for individuals but also for whole families, communities, and nations. I imagine children from every walk of life and their potential for the possibility to become change agents through their learning. After all, isn’t that the essence of education—to unlock potential and empower individuals to effect positive change?

Every time I give through the VCCF, I know my donation will be handled with care, appreciation, and fiduciary responsibility. I feel grateful to have this wonderful organization in our community. To me, VCCF is family.

I have been with VCCF for 27 years supporting the TEACh foundation. VCCF represents the smiles I see on the faces of hundreds of Ventura County foster youth throughout this time. I have never had to worry about the security of our funds or struggle with the financial compliances associated with running a scholarship program - VCCF does that for us.

While I’ve always hoped our funds could be more, donors have stepped forward through these times and I should mention that the major donors have been associated with VCCF. Vanessa is the first community leader who has ever asked me “What would be your dream for financial needs for the foster youth?” in 27 years. That speaks to SUPPORT and VISION.
I will say that my favorite memory will always be last year for the Scholars Night Event. The Ventura County Library Foundation came through with a $3,000 contribution for the event that had to be given in gift cards. Our Scholars Night Fund requires VCCF to purchase and pay for the needs from the fund. Mike Silacci, Bonnie Gilles and I’m sure several others ran around to Target, grocery stores, etc. to get the needed gift cards because you can only buy certain amounts at the stores. They could have said they could not make that happen with their busy schedules, but they all came together to make it happen for the foster youth. It’s the people and values of VCCF.
